Ralph Peckins, of Clarkesville GA, passed away quietly on October 30, surrounded by friends and hospice staff. His good friend (and our member David Wall) said, “I can’t think of living in a world that he is not in, however, he is in a better place than we are!” We are all sad for the loss of our friend and longtime member of the Peach State Cadillac & LaSalle Club. Ralph was one of the founding members, whose history dates back to 1988 with the club. Ralph was a big time collector of Cadillacs, having driven a fire engine red ’59 convertible to many a local car show. He’s had too many to count. He was a pilot and an avid flyer as well, and was known to have been flying even after he gave up his car keys. We trust that Ralph is flying with the angels now, and we’re hoping he looks favorably on the way we are treating his beloved Cadillac club and the cars in our group. Peace, Ralph!
Bill Torella passed away in mid-October 2019. He had been fighting an aggressive form of bone cancer that came on him without much notice in recent months. His passing was something of a relief to those who loved him, because he was hurting pretty badly in the last few weeks. Bill was a close friend to many in the Peach State CLC region – he would do ANYTHING to help a friend. Totally selfless guy. I remember well how Bill took care of Bob and Judy Winchell while Winch was battling his own form of cancer. Bill would drive Winch around, and I know he spent as much time as anyone with Judy in Bob’s last days. You might recall Bill’s mid-Eighties Sedan, which he bought because he felt like he had to drive a Cadillac when he joined us for local events and driving tours. That ’50 Ford just wasn’t good enough for those days! He was a regular with the ROMEOs too, and they returned his allegiance when the whole gang turned out for his military service at the National Military Cemetery in Canton GA on October 21. The Peach State Cadillac club was well represented that day too, for the memorial service. Bill, we are going to miss you.
Friends... Our buddy Lee Dunn has passed away. Many of you have asked about a memorial service for Lee. Please save the date: Saturday, September 21st at 3pm. The service will be at the Dunns' church, Pine Log United Methodist, 3497 Pine Log Road NE, Rydel, GA.
Peach State Cadillac club, let's see if we can turn out in numbers to honor Lee and show our support for Mary Jean and the family. Let's drive our vintage Cadillacs. We know Lee will be smiling down on all that chrome! We'll post details as we get closer to the date. Questions? Contact Doug or Tom.

To our fellow Peach State Cadillac LaSalle members,
I know my wife Linda was deeply overwhelmed by your concerns and support through these past two plus years dealing with her sickness. I am so very appreciative, too, and would like to thank each and every one of my Peach State Cadillac ‘family’.
Being your Activities Directors for the past several years, I know Linda really enjoyed your one-on-one conversations with her. She was the kind of person who would sit and listen carefully to what you had to say.
Now that the family and friends have all returned to their homes, ours is now quiet. I must start a new chapter in my life. But, I will deeply miss her going about her daily routines, hanging out together, attending doctor appointments, cooking, cleaning, shopping together, etc. Over the past few months, Linda wasn’t able to do much of that but, instead, became a patient teacher; instructing me on various household chores. She even paid me a compliment on making spaghetti and meatballs from scratch —as she used to do.
Our 1961 Cadillac Convertible (although not the same car we were married in 50+ years ago) still enjoys the “Cadillac Standard of the World” reputation. Likewise, Linda (always a Cadillac aficionado) was a devoted wife and mother " The Standard of Our World."
Again, thank you for all of your cards, love and support…

Rory O'Neill - Please join me in expressing our heartfelt sympathy for Lucille O'Neill, our friend and Peach State CLC board member. Lu lost the love of her life, Rory, on July 3, 2018 - just about a month shy of his 72nd birthday. They had recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary.
Rory would be found anywhere we had a club event, challenging the rest of us to match his generosity with special causes of all kinds, and with his kindness and gentle spirit. The attached photo is of Rory and Lucille with Tom Di Nucci at the fund raiser we have every fall for at-risk kids and veterans. He had a FULL bucket of cash, which he'd raised by sharing his beautiful red and white Eldorado Biarritz.
Lucille is surrounded by close friends and family, and has arranged for a private celebration of Rory's life in late August in Roswell. We will keep you posted. You may send a card to Lucille at her home, 400 Allenbrook Court, Roswell, GA 30075. Prayers are appreciated...
Thanks,
Doug, Mark, Tom, Sandy, Sandy, and Michelle
